Project Description
What is Eyelid Surgery?
Eyelid surgery, also known as blepharoplasty, is a popular cosmetic procedure that has gained significant attention recently, especially among women. Cosmetic surgery can be performed in various ways today, increasing the interest in these procedures. The ability to correct areas of the body that we are unhappy with or that negatively impact our health through cosmetic surgery is particularly appealing.
When is it Performed?
The eyelids are one of the most noticeable parts of the face, and any issues in this area can negatively affect a person’s daily life. Eyelid surgery is performed to eliminate such problems. This surgery can address aesthetic concerns such as under-eye bags, wrinkles around the eyes, and sagging under the eyes. Additionally, any functional problems with the eyelids can be resolved with this surgery.
Is There an Age Limit?
While there is generally an age requirement for cosmetic procedures, some eyelid issues may not be related to age. Problems with the eyelids can sometimes arise due to hereditary or congenital factors. In such cases, early intervention can be beneficial for the patient. For example, patients with genetically pronounced under-eye bags and swelling may undergo surgery without waiting for a specific age. Eyelid surgery helps to address these types of complaints as well.
Duration of the Surgery
Eyelid surgery can be performed on both the upper and lower eyelids. If only the upper eyelid is being treated, the procedure is usually brief, typically completed within about 30 minutes. If the lower eyelid requires treatment, the procedure may take longer, usually around 1 to 1.5 hours. It is important to consider whether any other facial procedures will be performed simultaneously. Due to the delicate nature of the eyelids, both the patient and the surgeon must be meticulous.
Recovery Process
The recovery process after eyelid surgery is typically faster than other procedures. Patients can often return to their daily activities within a few days, and the overall recovery period is relatively short.
